warning to us consumers looking for information on the IWSF International water safety foundation 

This a warning to anybody who is planning to purchases a policy from 
the IWSF, and is doing some basic internet research, which I did, and 
unfortunately found very little info when I purchased my charter boat 
policy in 2005.

The address for the IWSF is 6550 Cote-de-liesse, St-Laurent, Quebec 
CanadaH4T 1E3. The Maine address is out of Kent England.

The (IWSF) International Water Safety Foundation, and North American Marine and General Insurance LTD is know as a surplus line carrier and are not regulated by US state Insurance Commissioners, and are not, or cannot be required to comply with US laws.

 IWSF et al. operate in the State of Washington without oversight and are unregistered as insurance companies. Based upon our research, they write marine insurance policies without physical offices in the State of Washington or anywhere in the United States. They contest the jurisdiction of Washington Court and they have had cease and desist orders issued to them in at least two other states (Oregon and Texas). They have also operated under the IWMSF,and NAMGIC
